Treatment

Repair and stabilize your individual objects

Treatment Approach

All treatment is carried out in accordance with the Ethics Guidelines established by the American Institute for Conservation. These guidelines require thorough documentation before and after the treatment, including written reports and digital images.

Girod Holt Conservation treats a wide variety of objects on paper, (such as prints, drawings, maps, family documents, watercolors, etc.) as well as photographic prints and parchment. Treatment includes mending mechanical damage, reducing staining and foxing, and removing old attachments such as old mounts, tapes, or old hinges.

Getting Started

Treatment begins with a verbal consultation and examination of the object. You will not be charged for this initial conversation. Once you agree to leave your object with the conservator, the object will be examined in more detail and a written treatment proposal and estimate of cost will be sent to you for approval. Treatment only starts when you have signed and returned this proposal.

Contact Girod Holt Conservation to set up an appointment to bring your object in for consultation.
